Cultural Association for Yoruba and Afro-Cuban Dances „Sabor a Eshu Bi"

About us

Our Story

Our Cultural Association was founded on 25.02.2026 in Switzerland through the initiative of a collective of Swiss and Cuban friends united by a shared passion for the tradition of Afro-Cuban dance.

The Association was born from the desire to preserve, share, and authentically live the traditional Afro-Cuban dances. These dances are the expression of the encounter between African and Spanish cultures, which merged over the centuries in Cuba. From this fusion emerged a rich cultural identity: Afro-Cuban culture, whose roots continue to grow and flourish on the island of Cuba to this day.

Why „Sabor a Eshu Bi"?

The name of our Association pays tribute to a symbolic figure of the Afro-Cuban Yoruba tradition. “Eshu Bi” represents the spirit of a lively, playful, and dance-loving child: full of vital energy, always joyful, and able to spread contagious happiness through movement and music.

In Spanish, the word “sabor” means “flavor,” but it also conveys “warmth,” “energy,” and “joy of life.” This is exactly the spirit we wish to share through our Association: dancing with passion, energy, and heart. We invite you to experience and share this joy with us through movement, music, and community..
